For each item listed on both markets, CS2Cap computes the price difference relative to the selected benchmark, then uses the median across matched items to reduce the influence of outliers.
The ladder compares listed prices before marketplace, deposit, withdrawal, or payment fees. Matched-item coverage varies by pair and is shown beside the summary.

What are CS2 market rates?+
A market rate is how one marketplace's prices compare to another's. For a chosen benchmark marketplace, CS2Cap measures every other marketplace's typical price difference on the same items and ranks them from cheapest to priciest.
How is the rate calculated?+
For each item listed on both marketplaces, the rate is (price on B − price on A) ÷ price on A, all converted to USD. CS2Cap takes the median of those per-item rates across the highest market-cap items so a single outlier can't skew the headline number, and reports robust stats (median, mean, 10th/90th percentile) alongside a full distribution.
Which items are compared?+
The comparison runs over the top CS2 items by market cap that are listed on both marketplaces. Souvenir items and StatTrak knives and gloves are excluded because their sticker, float, and rarity variance makes a single cross-market price difference unreliable.
Why is one marketplace cheaper than another?+
Structural differences: seller and buyer fees, regional demand, payment methods, currency, and liquidity all push a marketplace's prices consistently above or below the benchmark. The rate trend shows whether that gap is stable or moving over time.
How often do the rates update?+
The cross-market ladder is recomputed from a recent market snapshot and kept warm in cache, refreshing every few minutes. The per-pair drill-down and trend load on demand for the two marketplaces you select.
